  • In 1945, the small mechanical workshop "Lammhults Mekaniska" was founded 450 kilometers south of Stockholm, in the heart of Sweden’s “kingdom of furniture”. The company manufactured fittings and other small details for the furniture manufacturers in the area and in its vicinity. In the mid-50s, Lammhults would become a design company. This was achieved in the 70s through the collaboration with two external designers Börge Lindau and Bo Lindekrantz. Many designers from Sweden and Danmark followed in their footsteps and today Lammhults is one of the leading Scandinavian design furniture manufacturers.

The Lammhults commitment has always been to the best designs using the best materials in the most modern and efficient way.

  • By the early 1960s Lammhults was looking to expand its design identity and they invited the well-known design partners Lindau & Lindekrantz to work with them. In 1965 Lammhults asked Lindau & Lindekrantz to design a chair for public use. Instead of one chair, Lindau and Lindekrantz offered two: Ritz and Royal. The chairs were the beginning of a long and fruitful collaboration that was to last for two decades. Over the course of the next 20 years, Lindau & Lindekrantz created scores of designs for Lammhults, establishing the company as a reference point for leading Scandinavian design. During Lammhult´s collaboration with Börge Lindau and Bo Lindekrantz, a number of important furniture designs were developed. A collection of Lindau & Lindekrantz designs are still in production, for example the S70-3 barstool and X75-2 armchair.
